Kid Bloom Song Review

Kid Bloom: “Hold In, Hold On” | Song Review

Kid Bloom (Lennon Kloser), a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter released his most recent single “Hold In, Hold On” this past Friday. The song, quoted as a “vibey, upbeat, happy song to help ease the anxiety of the current climate,” is the follow up to his recent EP Blood Sugar which was released earlier this year in the summer. Just like its predecessor, the single, “Hold In, Hold On,” has received a glowing reception from fans. Which after giving it a few listens myself I can definitely see why!

“Hold In, Hold On” opens up with a beachy upbeat sound that is reminiscent of The Beach Boys or The Beatles, while still staying true to Kid Bloom’s modern sound. “Hold In, Hold On” is a song that will not only put you in a good mood but will also be one that you’ll want to dance around while listening to. Filled with consistent percussions, an accompanying bass, and guitar, it’s a smooth sound that will definitely become stuck in your head.

Lyric wise, “Hold In, Hold On” is something that can be interpreted as the anthem of life in lockdown. Lyrics such as

“I find it funny how nobody acts the same as before” and “I miss my friends”

are two examples of lyrics that are certainly describing a lot of people’s emotions during these current times. The single also could easily be a way of describing the feeling of finally getting over a friend and working through that. Personally, I think the beauty of “Hold In, Hold On” is how vertical it sounds.

If you’d like to listen to the song for yourself it’s currently on all streaming platforms, and if you’d like to follow Kid Bloom feel free to check out his Twitter or Instagram!
